Food - 5/5 - One of the best Japanese restaurants that I have ever had. The food comes out so fresh every time. They are super consistent with their dishes and everything is so delicious! From ramen to rice plates to sushi, they have something for everyone. Price - $$ - The pricing here is exactly what you would expect for what you get. I think the pricing is fair and you really do get great quality. Service - 5/5 - The servers are always kind and efficient. They are super sweet and greet you happily, no matter what time of day. Ambiance - 4/5 - The restaurant aesthetic is super cute. The restaurant is quite small so the seating may be limited, but if there's a wait, it's honestly worth it. Location - 3/5 - It's located in the busy Little Tokyo, so be aware that parking may be an issue and you may need to park in a structure and walk there. ____________________ **Note: Location rating does not affect yelp review, this is just for informative purposes of other patrons only.

A very bittersweet review for me. Suehiro's Little Tokyo location closing as of today (1/9/2024). There's a lot of memories linked with this spot, as it was the best spot for late night eats in Little Tokyo. Whenever I was in Little Tokyo past 10pm, I'd go to Suehiro. Some of my favorite dishes were the nabeyaki udon, and oroshi soba. The prices were affordable and the service was always kind. I'm sure the other locations will thrive.

Iconic Little Tokyo Eatery Departs for Better Digs But Leaves a Lasting Impression Old school ambiance, cozy feel, warm service, and classic home-style Japanese and yokosho dishes? What more could you ask for in Little Tokyo? Where else can you find such a perfect combination of down home Japanese cuisine in LA? Almost nowhere, and it's sad that tomorrow it leaves Little Tokyo -- where it belongs -- for good! Here's my review of this iconic eatery that has a special place in my heart. Hayashi Rice. So good. Nothing says yokosho like Hayashi rice (except maybe hambaga or Japanese-Italian pasta, etc.). And it's basically like Dinty Moore but packed with that deliciously sweet mushroom flavor mixed oh so well with the beef and carrots and onions. Definitely recommend adding the egg over easy for that extra creaminess to counterbalance the deep flavors of the stew. Star of the show and recommend with enthusiasm. Sukiyaki Set. Miso soup and ice cream included? Plus tempura? What a deal! Order this, and you will definitely get full. I feel like this set is meant for like two people or 1.5. Miso soup was spot on delicious, being not too watery or grainy, but full of flavor. Also, tempura was tasty and crunchy. But man, the way they do the sukiyaki here is authentic enough for me. They actually give you the raw egg and bowl so you can dip the beef in it, which is a nice touch of authenticity for me. And the sukiyaki portion is just huge, but it's full of that sweet and salty soy packed into it, not disappointing at all. Definite recommend for value proposition and execution. Beef Yakisoba. Surprisingly quite good. Being stationed in Okinawa, and being a foodie with a recent trip to mainland Japan, I have had many experiences with the yakisoba. This was probably one of the best renditions I have had. Not too dry but perfectly oily. And it's packed with that umami beefy flavor, with the cuts of beef nice and tender. And the noodles were perfectly al dente for my tastes, going nicely with some crunchy veggies. Also a solid recommend here. Overall, a great experience. I would give 5 stars, but service did seem a bit slow with dishes brought one by one with some minutes in between. However, I will note that there were 8 of us, and they accommodated our party well by combining tables, so that was nice of them. If this place hit the mark, I cannot imagine that there new location won't continue to have the same level of dining experience. So come check it out. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Came to eat here one last time at this place before they close this location for good. So sad to see them leave little tokyo due to rent issues with their land lord hiking up the rent. This place has been here for so long and was my go to place if maragume next door is packed! This place has amazing food and i am glad to hear they are moving to a different location, but little tokyo will not be the same without them there. I am sure this business will thrive at their new location on 4th street since their food speaks for itself. I love their nabeyaki udon and their salmon shazuke. The salmon shazuke is such a unique experience...i mean when do u ever get to pour soup using a teapot over ur rice? The udon is served hot on a small pot. Note: i accidentally burnt myself by touching the pot. So be careful. There is usually a wait but its never too long probably 30 mins top ive waited.
